Yesterday I led an elective on Acts 2:42-47 at the Box Hill Youth Camp in Anglesea. It was interesting to look at what made these early Christian communities so amazing after Pentecost. We then tried to fast forward these characteristics to Australia 2000 years later and see how we could also have a community that valued prayer, fellowship, and the sharing of possessions. It is often challenging to make the scriptures relevant to our westernised 21st century culture, but I thank God for the wisdom it still brings and the fact that the Holy Spirit is here today for each of us to embrace and help us through life.
